Jalaysia Edwers

Copywriter, content strategist, and social/community manager—doing the most (with intention)! Currently, penning brand stories with flair.

About Me

Hi, my name is Jalaysia Edwers. I’m an innovative copywriter and content/community strategist with 5+ years of experience and a B.A. in English & African American Studies from Rutgers University. My passion for writing began in childhood; while my peers drew with chalk, I transformed sidewalks into colorful canvases filled with my thoughts. Recently, this passion led me to graduate from One School’s Marketing Copywriting Program, where I honed my skills in crafting compelling narratives that connect and inspire.

As a Copywriter, Content Strategist, and Social/Community Manager, I’ve created impactful content for diverse brands and audiences. At BrownMill Company, I boosted audience engagement by 60% and significantly increased conversion rates through strategic digital marketing campaigns. My work has earned recognition from CNBC, GQ Open Source, and Vogue Business, leading to collaborations with Twitter, UGG, Urban Outfitters, Shea Moisture, and more.

I’m experienced in developing content calendars, posting platform-specific content, engaging communities through comments and DMs, managing user-generated content, coordinating influencer seeding, and crafting captivating captions. I’ve managed content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and TikTok, always focusing on how brand interactions make audiences feel—because that fuels loyalty and drives conversions.

I understand the power of data-driven storytelling, consistently analyzing KPIs like engagement rates, follower growth, and click-through rates to optimize strategies. Whether adapting copy to fit different brand voices, implementing SEO best practices, or responding to community feedback, I’m dedicated to creating content that resonates. I’m also mindful of brand reputation, managing sensitive interactions and potential crises with care while staying on top of cultural trends to keep brands relevant.

With a background in account management, I bring a strategic mindset to client deliverables, contributing to campaign ads, email marketing, social posts, leave behinds and more.

In college, I served as a Writing Coordinator and was an active member of the journalism and magazine clubs, where I created engaging content for my peers. Outside of work, you’ll find me exploring wellness, beauty, and fashion trends (currently obsessed with cherry red flats) or getting lost in a compelling novel.

With my diverse experience in copywriting, content creation, brand development, and strategic marketing, I’m eager to collaborate and transform ideas into captivating copy and content that builds community and drives businesses forward.

Feel free to reach out at jalaedwers@gmail.com if you’d like to discuss how I can contribute to your team’s success!

Know Your Glow: Decoding Skincare Ingredients

Did you know that nearly 69% of skincare users aren’t fully aware of the ingredients in their products? (BeautyMatter, 2023) This lack of awareness can lead to choosing products that might not be the best fit for your skin, potentially resulting in irritation or breakouts.

To help you navigate the skincare landscape, try the Think Dirty app. Simply scan the barcode of any product, and it reveals its ingredients, safety ratings, and potential red flags.

With this handy tool, you can make informed choices that truly benefit your skin—your skin and science will thank you!

Multivitamins: Your Key to Optimal Health

Did you know that in today's fast-paced world, many people struggle to get all the essential nutrients from food alone? Multivitamins can help bridge this gap, supporting overall health. Research from the Harvard School of Public Health shows that daily multivitamin intake may reduce nutrient deficiencies and boost immune function.

A highly recommended option is the Garden of Life Vitamin Code Multivitamin. Made from raw, organic fruits and vegetables, this multivitamin includes probiotics and enzymes for better digestion and is suitable for both men and women.

Incorporating a quality multivitamin into your daily routine can be a simple yet powerful step toward better health.

The Copywriter's Playground

Oh, the words I wrangle, the phrases I chase,
Turning coffee and chaos into a creative space.
With a dash of wit and a sprinkle of flair,
I whip up catchy lines that dance in the air.

Editing is my workout; I polish with glee,
Making sure each word is as sharp as can be.
I dive into research to know what you seek,
Studying tones and trends, each project unique.

From boosting your brand to making hearts race,
I craft messages that truly embrace.
My audience awaits, with a click and a grin,
As I brew up some magic—let the fun begin!
So here’s to the copy, in all its rich art,
In the world of words, I’m playing my part.
